I wasn't aware that I got a free licence for Capture 1? I'll have to look into that, I'm from the UK so don't know whether that effects anything? Possibly US only? The range is over 100 file types, so you are able not only to clean up your pictures, but everything els residing on your external hd over the years. The import filters have a range from nearly every DSC-Raw format, jpg/tiff/gif/png over nearly all (present and past) video formats.Īll text based formats can be catalogued as well, like html/xml/txt/docx/xlsx/pptx/odc/. MPSE is really flexible regarding rendering engine - you can use the one from the OS, COne rendering engine, or even your own, if you get the API call working.īut that's not only for stills, MPSE can handle a lot of more items as the other, dedicated stills DAMs. Yo can manage your metadata, build up sub catalogues, build portions, cull and drill. If you go with COne for Sony or the full version, I highly recommend to go for MediaProSE. I am aware that Affinity are working on a DAM and that is something I will consider down the line but unfortunately don't know how long that will be. I've found Match, Photo Supreme and Media Pro SE but don't really want to buy until I've got some other people's perspectives. Like a lot of people, I am staying away from the subscription based Lightroom and want something that is purely software which manages my digital assets (doesn't have to be RAW editor) as I will be using Affinity photo or similar to edit my photos.ĭoes anyone have any experience with alternatives to Lightroom? I've recently bought a Sony A7 III and am starting 'fresh' with managing photos and workflow and want to get the best setup I can.
